Day of Longboat

Yesterday, my floormates and I went to day of the longboat to have fun. It was fun. But I am unhappy, not because of the result, or anything related to the event. I lost my UBC card… Needless to say, it is a very important piece of ID. I need it for my midterms which starts next Thursday. You can probably imagine that I am in a great panic.

In the morning, my floormates knocked on my door to wake me up – I hope this happens everyday, so that I’ll never be late. I had my alarm set to 10:30, but I figure, might as well wake up earlier.

I chained my UBC card to my room key, which is not a bad idea at all… but then I didn’t think that the card holder would break off…

We ran hard and made it to the bus loop in time. It was tough, I hate exercising, and yet, I had to run… I probably already lost my card at some point. It took about 10 minutes to get there, which is around half the total time it takes me to walk there normally.

On the bus, I can’t help but notice the guy sitting in front of me kept on looking at my chain, I strongly suspect that I lost the card on the bus.

We got our animal hats when we got off the bus. It’s stupid that I hadn’t notice a thing up to this point. Then, when we’re walking towards the beach, out of no where, I checked my chain — “my student card is gone… I don’t have my UBC card…” I had my driver’s license w/ me, so I could still race, but I’ve lost my UBC card… It’s such a shock to me, and I just know this feeling too well. I lost something really important to me, again. It cost $25 to replace, which isn’t much, but really crushed my mood. The worst is that, maybe some of the people don’t know what to say to me or how to approach me when I’m feeling terrible, many people didn’t say anything to calm me down. I acted cool… of course, I never publicly freak out.

After having red bull (taste bad, but I like it better than the first time I had it) and waited for like an hour, it’s our turn. Everyone loves our hats, mine was a lion :).

Our boat got detoured when the other team pushed us… so we spent lots of time to get back on track… we lost, but we had fun 🙂

The restaurant there has a pretty good  kids menu –  kids burger w/ yam fries for $6.71…  fries makes me happy – officially my fav food (alongside w/ chocolate, ice cream, skittles, and many others).

I really lost my card, and I don’t think I’ll be able to get it back, I have to thank Amanda for telling me that it’s no big deal and all I have to do is inactivate the meal plan for the time being. I am capable of handling the problem, but she calmed me down and made me feel better. Thanks!

I have to get back to study now… got to understand all the physics concepts today.
